Angled for Real Comfort
The Cedar Log Slanted Ottoman is built for one job: giving your feet the right angle when you're settled into a Cedar Log Arm Chair, Rocker, or Glider. The slanted top surface positions your feet at a natural, comfortable angle rather than a flat horizontal — which makes a real difference over a long sit.
Construction matches the rest of the Contoured Comfort collection: 100% Northern White Cedar logs, mortise and tenon joinery, galvanized exterior hardware. Low-profile and stable, designed to stay in place on a deck or patio without rocking or shifting under use.
Why Northern White Cedar
Cheap alternatives at this price are often built from Chinese fir — a wood that looks acceptable when new but usually shows significant deterioration within 1 to 3 years outdoors. Northern White Cedar doesn't need chemical treatment to resist moisture and insects — the wood does it naturally. Cedar furniture from Lakeland Mills routinely lasts 10 to 20 years with minimal upkeep.
Finish Options
Left natural, the cedar weathers gradually to a warm silver-grey. It also accepts sealant, stain, or paint cleanly if you prefer a maintained finish or a specific color palette.

The Perfect Footrest for Cedar Log Chairs
The Cedar Log Ottoman is a solid cedar footrest built to pair with any chair in the Contoured Comfort collection — the Arm Chair, the Rocker, the Glider, the Lounge Chair — giving you a place to stretch out and settle in for the long sit. It can also pull double duty as extra seating when the gathering needs more spots around a table or fire pit.
The construction matches the rest of the collection: 100% Northern White Cedar logs, mortise and tenon joinery, galvanized exterior hardware. Low-profile and stable, designed to hold its position on a deck or patio without rocking or sliding under a foot's worth of weight.
Why Northern White Cedar
At this price, it's easy to find ottomans built from Chinese fir — a wood that weathers poorly and typically shows significant deterioration within 1 to 3 years outdoors. Northern White Cedar is structurally different. The natural oils in the wood resist moisture and insects from the inside out, without pressure treatment. Lakeland Mills cedar furniture typically holds up for 10 to 20 years with basic care.
Finish Options
Left natural, the cedar weathers to a soft silver-grey over time. It also takes sealant, stain, or paint well if you want to maintain the original color or coordinate with other outdoor furniture.

About Cracks and Checking
Many of the logs will have cracks, called checks. Checking occurs when the logs dry and the cells shrink causing the wood to split. This does not weaken the wood — it helps give cedar furniture its rustic beauty. Cedar is naturally resistant to decay and insect damage, allowing you to enjoy this piece for many years.

Built to Stay Outside
The American Cedar Log Lounge Chair is built from 100% Northern White Cedar harvested in Michigan's Great Lakes region — not imported cedar, not cedar-look composite, not Chinese fir marketed as something it isn't. Contoured seat slats shaped for real extended sitting. Mortise and tenon joints at the structural connections. Galvanized exterior hardware throughout. A chair built with the expectation that it will be outside, under real weather, for a long time.
Why the Material Is the Decision
Most wood outdoor lounge chairs at this price point are made from Chinese fir. Chinese fir isn't rot-resistant and deteriorates in 1 to 3 years outdoors. Northern White Cedar lasts 10 to 20 years under normal outdoor use — it's naturally rot and insect resistant without chemical treatment. That's the material difference between a wood selected for outdoor furniture because of its properties, and one selected because it's inexpensive to import.
Lounge Position, Cedar Log Construction
The lounge configuration angles the seat further back than an upright chair, lower to the ground, with the back angle set for sitting a while rather than sitting properly. The contoured seat slats follow the natural position of the body at rest. Pairs with the Cedar Log Ottoman (CF1220) to bring your feet up. Finish as you prefer: leave it to weather naturally to silver-grey, or treat with any outdoor-rated oil, stain, or paint.

About Log Checking
Natural surface cracks (checks) appear as the wood dries with changes in humidity and temperature. In Northern White Cedar, checking is a normal characteristic of genuine log construction and does not affect structural integrity. Checks are surface-level and do not indicate a defect.
