Our Light-Heavy Duty Security Mailbox is made of a heavy duty 1/8" thick steel and made with security in mind. Weighing in at 38lbs this mailbox is the lightest in a line of heavy duty mailboxes. Perfect for areas needing extra security and piece of mind. These mailboxes are made to hold about a weeks worth of mail and measures in at 10 x 10 x 20."
This is a “Limited Service” Mailbox, and set up for incoming mail only. If you need outgoing mail, it is an addable option, but outgoing mail cannot be locked. When added, the outgoing mail option exposes the mail for the postal carrier to take. It allows for about 1-4 envelopes at a time.
The mail-carrier inserts the incoming mail into the slot (11.5″W x 1.75″H). Outgoing mail rests below the incoming slot (with an optional outgoing mail capability). Although there is no door concealing the outgoing mail like some of our other models, outgoing mail is still available. You will need to leave your outgoing mail sticking out about an inch for the mail carrier to grab (see our cutaway view for an explanation of how this works).
