Thermal modification is a chemical-free heat treatment that permanently changes the cellular structure of the Red Oak slats, making them more resistant to moisture, warping, and decay than standard wood. Contoured slats support both seat and back for real comfort. No finish required on either material. Care & Finishing
The thermally modified slats require no finish at all. The cedar log frame can be left untreated to weather to a silver-grey, or given a penetrating oil every few years to maintain its original warm tone. No annual maintenance on either material.
